“Life is better being a mom.”
Do What You Have To Do
Hey mama, are you struggling to get through your day? Are you just not having it with the tantrums, refusals of naps, potty training mishaps, or fighting between children? Well, you are not alone, and I'm here to tell you to do what you gotta do!
Focus On the Good to Enjoy the Growth
What do you see in this picture? You see a baby grinning from ear to ear. You see a happy moment with a child playing in the tub. What you don't see is a baby who peed in the tub, or a baby who threw a large cup full of that gross bath water in mommy's face. Parenting is full of joyful moments and it's also full of tough ones, but we can either choose to focus on the good or allow the bad overwhelm us.
Raising Kids Really Does Take A Village
I would like to sit here and tell you that me and my husband have got this whole parenting thing figured out. I would love to tell you that my children need us and only us. I'd love to even say that when they need help with something, they automatically want to come to us, and whenever they have a question, we are their first choice of people to ask. However, I'd be lying if I said that. My daughters and all kids everywhere need other adults to come alongside of us parents as we raise our children. Okay, so me and my husband are extremely lucky!
Girl power
We live in a world where women are constantly having to prove their worth, their abilities, and their competence. Women are degraded by men, intentionally and unintentionally. I have four girls. I'm always worried about them and I tend to overthink how my husband and I should raise them.
What to do with money gifts
Growing up, all of our parents were the same with money gifts. If you got money for birthdays or Christmas from family members, it was put straight into your savings account. You were not to touch that until you turned 18. What's the problem with that? Saving is great!!!
You are....enough.
What if I told you that no matter where you're at in life that you are enough? Do you feel like you immediately want to disagree?
Back to school be like...
All of us moms do it, we set more goals for ourselves at this time of the year than New Year's Eve! We tell ourselves we're gonna pack lunches the night before.... well balanced ones of course, set out <em>non wrinkled clothes on the dresser and backpacks on the counter the night before, we dream of styling their hair oh so perfectly with no frizz, and you know....the list goes on.
12 FREE summer family fun activities
It's officially summer and that means kids are on break from school! Woohoo! Now we ask the question, how do we keep them entertained all day? Kids are used to school schedules where they are constantly occupied. Now that they are out of school, they become restless and often repeat the phrase "I'm bored". That dreaded phrase!
The power of words
As parents one of our goals in raising them is to keep them from getting hurt, whether that be physical or emotional. But what happens when you can't?
The stereotype of being a girl mom
I'm sure many of you have seen the boy mom vs girl mom video recently swirling around Facebook. I honestly don't know where this came from. The idea of girls being well behaved vs boys who aren't. I am a mother of FOUR girls. I cannot attest to what it's like with boys, but I sure can say what it's like raising girls.
