Back to school be like...

All of us moms do it, we set more goals for ourselves at this time of the year than New Year's Eve! We tell ourselves we're gonna pack lunches the night before.... well balanced ones of course, set out non wrinkled clothes on the dresser and backpacks on the counter the night before, we dream of styling their hair oh so perfectly with no frizz, and you know....the list goes on.

We have the best intentions for making life easier and better come beginning of the school year. We envision these perfect mornings running smoothly and our children so well behaved. Then school actually starts....  No lie, I set a personal record this year. I was a whopping 3 days in when things started getting crazy! Did you know that most moms break their back to school goals by the first month. I guess I'm not too ahead of the curve. Nonetheless, we all break those goals pretty quickly.

Let's be real, I've already started throwing together outfits like I picked them with my eyes closed, like hello... 5 different shades of pink don't qualify as matching but it's all I could find in the dryer, okay?

As for hair, I am a hairstylist but the time I had originally set up to polish that hairstyle has now been shoved to the side in order for me to get a few more minutes of sleep. Those flyaways are flying high today!

As for lunches? At least my kids are happy because they're ain't no veggie in sight! I'm at the stage already where if it's not prepackaged, it's not making the cut. With only 2 minutes to spare I'm shouting "get those shoes on" because they never hear it the first 10 times, am I right?!

Somehow we manage to get them to school. Even more, we somehow manage to keep them alive.....with who knows how many cups of coffee each day. They say adults are made of 60% water, but I wouldn't be shocked if some of us moms were 60% coffee.

We always try our best as moms. Sometimes we do great and sometimes we fail. Sometimes we get them to school on time with everything ready to go and sometimes we get to school forgetting that it's actually a holiday. No matter what, we're all awesome! We're so awesome in fact that our kids believe we are real life superheroes!!!

So go keep fighting the school time rush one cup of coffee at a time!
