A house is now a home

As most of you know now, my husband and I bought a house! Moving is all too familiar for us. And if you've moved, you know the agony it can bring. The changing of addresses for everything, packing all your belongings...hoping and praying nothing breaks on the way, living on only essentials for a period of time, figuring out leases or the buying and selling a home, finding people to load and unload the truck, anything else I'm missing???

This was our 8th move in 6 years of marriage! You could call us pros. Every time we moved, we always hoped to have a sense of peace when we got there. A sense of permanence. A sense of family and community we would never have to say goodbye to again. We always wanted that, but we never felt that peace before. That lack of peace became a reality when we ended up time and time running into bad luck. At least what felt like bad luck.  Often we cried out as to why?? Why did we have to endure goodbyes again? But what we were missing while questioning was the realization that one day we would be extra grateful for a permanent home.....at least here on earth.

Here we are, 8 moves later and we are home! When we got to Colorado we finally felt that peace we needed. We could finally breath!  Anxious to settle, we bought a house with living here only 2 months. This house isn't just a house. It's not just a place to put our stuff for a year or 2. It's not a place to crash for awhile. It's our home! Colorado is our home. This new church is our home!

So in the midst of questioning why, remember there is always a reason. There's a reason we go through crappy situations. Sometimes we may figure out why and sometimes we won't, but there's always a reason, so we need only to focus on that, the positive side.
