Women Are Uniquely Powerful

This past Friday was International Women's Day. I loved seeing all the women in the world posting pictures of the amazing things they can do! Women were created beautiful and powerful in many ways. In this world I see women trying to prove themselves as equals to men. While we are very much equal in value, we were created different than men. Those differences are not weaknesses, but strengths!

As my husband and I went to church for our Saturday night service, I got to see firsthand how those differences are truly strengths! Our church hadn't planned it out for all women running the services this weekend, yet that's exactly what happened. We had all women leading worship and preaching.

Can I just say that I am truly honored to be a part of a church where they empower women to use their abilities to further God's kingdom, not just for a special occasion, but often!  I watched an amazing group of women come on stage for worship, with the leader, my friend Lennie, who has been gifted with the most amazing and powerful voice! As these women led us into worship, I was moved, and you could just feel others being moved as well as everyone's voices projected in the auditorium.

As time approached for the sermon, I watched my other dear friend Mariana walk on stage. As she began talking through Paul's letter to the church of Ephesus, she told a story of her sons friend who kept calling him the wrong name during a playdate. Even though he had been called his birth name for his entire life, he was confused and had to run back to his mom to find out who he really was. It is the same thing for us humans. We often get confused and overwhelmed by the world trying to tell us who we are. We must remember that in those times of confusion we need to run back to our heavenly father to remind us our true identity.

Watching and listening to these powerful females, I noticed something special. While the many men who lead our church are truly gifted, these women bring something different and irreplaceable to the table. It is not that one gender is better than the other, but when we work together as men and women we are able to see the fullness of God.

This weekends service at church is proof that women have something unique to offer, in life and in the church. They bring a certain kind of heart felt tie into things. Women are powerful through their soft and empathetic hearts. It is through qualities such as these that allow us to care for others in a unique way to help them grow mentally and spiritually.  In my 30 years of life, I have met and gotten to know some of the most amazing women. Women who are capable of great things.

Women who have the biggest hearts and have used those to propel them to lead well and change the world.  I am grateful and proud to be a woman! I am also grateful to have four incredible daughters who I know will do great things and have already done great things. I have seen them care for the poor and be the hands and feet of Jesus, even from such a young age.

I have heard their heart felt prayers for those hurting, even when they do not personally know the individual.

I have seen their courageous hearts to speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves and truly love others well.

It is beautiful the way that God intended this world to function.

This place truly would not be the same without women!
