The sacrifice of a military wife and mom
Being a stay at home mom is quite the job! Days are full of changing diapers or cleaning up after potty training "misses", breaking up fights, attempting to make healthy food and watch it get thrown on the floor, taking care of sick or emotionally needy kids, cleaning up the same toys more than you can count....the list goes on. Don't get me wrong, moms love their kids and it's totally worth it! But at the end of a long day or long week, we are happy to get a little help from the hubby when he's off work! Husbands whether they do a lot or a little really do lighten the load! They are able to get those last dishes done or change a few diapers, even let us go grocery shopping on our own. We often take our husbands for granted. But this is not about those of us who have husbands around all the time.
This is a thank you to those moms who have husbands in the military and have to deal with deployments! If you are a mom and a military wife....thank you!!! Your sacrifice allows me, my family, and everyone else in the world to live in a free country! You letting your husband serve our country is what makes me feel safe at night. It's what allows me to teach my kids about Jesus freely! It's what allows the rest of us live in a place where we have so many opportunities to live a great life! You allow your husband to leave time and time again while you work with tirelessly with your kids at home. From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful!!!
While the rest of us moms feel overworked at times, while we are complaining about our husbands being gone for work for a couple days or a week here and there, you are doing this mom thing solo for months at a time. You raise your kids so well! You love your kids so well! You are constantly working without extra hands and an extra voice of reason when kids are fighting. While some of us are worried about our husbands driving home from work 20 minutes away, you worry about your husband's safety in combat. I can't imagine what you deal with, but you are amazing! Whether you are pregnant while your spouse is deployed, giving birth without them, have one or ten kids to take care of without them, you are incredible!
To you, Jessica (my amazing sister-in-law), and to every other hard working mom and spouse of someone in the military....thank you! Thank you for enduring your daily hardships with your kids! From those of us who live in this free country because of you and your husbands sacrifice, we are truly grateful!!!
